Founder and CEO Roy Richards is an author, motivational speaker, seminar leader, personal coach and consultant. He co-founded Middle Age Renewal Training (MART) with his wife Gloria in 2006 with a stated mission to revitalize career and life experience of dispirited women and men in their middle years and to reenergize established enterprises large and small.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota with a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Chicago, Roy spent seventeen years climbing the corporate ladder with four major U.S. corporations and sixteen years thriving as a small business owner and entrepreneur. In the year 2000, Roy “woke up” to the realization that he was missing out on the joy, emotional fulfillment and positively challenging lifestyle open to confident, dedicated and self-motivated individuals of middle age. Despite career success, Roy describes his prior professional and personal life experience as “thirty years of sleepwalking through life.”

Roy and Gloria reside in Clive, Iowa and are parents of an adult son Geoffrey of Austin, Texas and a late daughter Kristen, a former Navy pilot. They share their home with an energetic English Springer Spaniel named Chips.
